About
Johan Georg Zernebach, also known as Johan Georg Zarrenbach or Johann Georg Zernebach, was a master amber craftsman active in the city of Gdańsk during the early 18th century, specifically in the 1720s. He is renowned for creating a cabinet in 1724, crafted from amber and adorned with ivory, silver, and mica crystals. This exceptional piece is currently housed in the Amber Museum in Gdańsk. Notably, Zernebach is among the few Gdańsk amber craftsmen from the period predating the 19th century whose signed works are known to exist.
Manifesto
In a pursuit of inclusivity, Pastuszak Studio embraces the challenge of redesigning the amber cabinet, ensuring it becomes a space that transcends visual limitations. This initiative reflects our commitment to crafting an environment where everyone, including those with visual impairments, can engage with the beauty of amber. Through innovative design, we aim to create an immersive and accessible experience that redefines the boundaries of cultural appreciation, making heritage a shared and enriching journey for all.
